But the events of the past few years have made us realize just how important this task is.
Jason and I have 6 kids, 8 years old and under. We have a busy household, and I know so many of you can relate to that feeling of busy. And stress. Maybe even fear and anxiety this year.
But one thing is clear, there has never been a more important time to make sure our households are rooted and grounded in the Lord. As the world has turned to politics and anger, we must first turn to Christ.
And so when I was sitting down earlier this year to plan the theme for our 8th annual online homemaking conference, I knew it needed to be this:
Homemaking in Light of Eternity.
You see - God cares deeply about our lives as Christians. He cares deeply for the local Church. He wants us to be training up our children in the Lord and for all of us to be in His Word and in prayer.
--> But God also cares for the small everyday details of our life too.
The way that we tackle home management, decisions regarding our kids school options, how we manage our time, and all the mundane moments in between are not outside of what God cares for.
In fact, as women and as families, we need to make sure that we are starting FIRST with Christ and letting that affect our daily lives. We have a responsibility before the Lord to make sure that our entire lives are rooted in the Lord. No detail is too small or insignificant before the Lord.
Bringing glory to God affects every little corner of our life. From our morning Bible study to dealing with patience with our screaming 2 year old. From scrubbing the toilets to dealing with a conflict with a friend. He cares about how we organize our time and what we prioritize.
So this year, we are considering homemaking in light of eternity. How does our response to God affect everything?

But there is not doubt that the enemy is trying to distract us this year. He would love nothing better than to sow discord among Christians. To distract us from our true purpose and calling in live.
The world may feel topsy turvy right now. But God isn't surprised. He isn't flustered or fretting over current events.
In fact, he has some really important plans in place and He is moving. We just don't always know what that plan is.
I don't think we should be ignorant of what's happening in the world but it needs to all be done through the lense of a Biblical worldview.
That is what this conference is going to aim to do. We are going to kick off the brand new year by looking at our home, our homemaking, and our families in light of eternity.
The sessions this year will be a beautiful blend of extremely Biblical and thoroughly practical.
